Frequently asked questions

What result do you need in the slalom?

A time not exceeding 118% of the benchmark time for men, and 118% of the benchmark time with a coefficient of 1.05 for women. The distances between the gates are within the range of 18–21 metres, and the benchmark time for men may not be shorter than 25 seconds.

Participants over the age of 45 pass the test with a time of up to 120% of the benchmark time — for women with the same coefficient of 1.05.

How many points from technical skiing and teaching?

A minimum of 24 points from technical skiing and a minimum of 6 points from teaching. Failing to reach the minimum in either part means the whole examination has to be repeated.

What if I do not have a logbook?

We issue race numbers only on the basis of a correctly completed Snow Sports Training and Practice Logbook — missing entries result in removal from the list. The logbook itself can be bought on the spot for PLN 30.

Do women and men start separately?

No. The whole examination is held jointly, women only have an additional time coefficient. Candidates taught by a given member of the Board may not be assessed by that member in the teaching part.

Which technical elements may appear?

Two angled ones — snowplough arcs and the snowplough turn — and two parallel ones chosen by the Board from the skidded parallel turn, NW (down-up), the long parallel turn and the short swing. The scope of the basic and intermediate levels of the current SITN Alpine Skiing Teaching Programme applies.
